Rule of Law Progress
Is it just me or are more bicycles waiting at the light then charging through it than last year?
I dug up a Financial Times article today that makes the point well.
They note the Chinese government’s stronger and stronger emphasis on rule of law in the commercial sphere. You can find the whole article here. In fact, the government is moving because the people are asking for it. The whole culture is moving toward rule of law, but is still short of a Western understanding. If you act as if China has no law in business here, you will likely get burned.
And yes, more bicycles will stop at stop lights year by year. Oh, and more of your workers and suppliers will not only follow the law but also use it against you.
Any ideas to add?
