Training sales teams is one thing we do for customers. Improving marketing is another slightly deeper path.
However, at many companies, focus on any given sales function may not lead to significant benefit.
A deeper look is needed. All sectors of the company should be touched to see how alignment is working to give the sales and marketing people the best product or service in the best form. Many times collaboration is weak across departments. Vision is unclear in the company as a whole and strategic alignment is left out. Silos are strong and significant potential is not captured.

Senior leaders need to bring the resources to analyze and get this done. They can make the company a powerful team while others in each function cannot.
