Offshoring to China

The Procurement Leaders Blog has up a post on offshoring that got me thinking. You can see it here.

They noted that offshoring should not just be for driving down cost. So well said.

Lets say it again. Offshoring should not just be about driving down costs.

It is a much bigger question that should involve the whole Dashboard and the overall strategy of the company.

Suppliers should be seen as much more than a cost factor.  They need to be partners wherever possible and should be able to grow with you and help you grow by their innovation and strength.  Their location should be overall beneficial and not just an offshoot.

It certainly needs to serve all stakeholders and help the business thrive.

Then it is a good move and not before.
