I am a consultant who hates most training.
Even very good training leaves me with little benefit three days later. Most of us recognize that facilitation is a stronger model, but it is rarely done, and we put up with time and money spent on something we and our people will not recall three days later. People remember what they thought of better than what anyone says. Therefore, facilitation leads people to self discovery and self expression in a way that creates applicable passion. It is a strong model, so why do we accept so much trainer gabbing? Facilitation takes facilitation thinking. Trainers often are the worst facilitators.
